Project Row Houses: Round 36 | Value$:
The African-American community has a spending power of $800 billion dollars and is slated to reach 1 trillion by 2015. That is enough to rank African-Americans as the world's 16th largest country in terms of spending. But what do African-Americans have to show of it? What many African-Americans have lost sight of, or have never grasped, is the concept of value. The tendency to purchase items that depreciate in value is almost second-nature. My Row House seeks to shed "light" on this issue as well as point to what is truly valuable and how a shift in spending is paramount to the future.
